AI: Your best friend until your clients use it.

So many Realtors are obsessed with AI.

Perhaps, too many...

Every mastermind and conference has a significant portion of the content dedicated to using AI.

Admit it. You haven't written a property description since you discovered ChatGPT.

And it's not just Realtors. People of all ages are becoming aware of AI in America:

😳 The magic bullet gone wrong.

In the beginning, AI seemed like it would be the secret weapon every Realtor needed to become productive.

No more figuring out what to post on social media.

No more stumbling over your words in emails to clients.

No more doing things the hard way.

But after starting out as something awesome, agents are beginning to see the downside of AI being publicly available.

And if you haven't experienced it yet, you'll be seeing more of your clients using AI as they work with your (or to replace you).

You've probably seen the articles about the Florida man who used ChatGPT to sell his house:

Before you dismiss it as a one off, the 1,400 comments are a warning sign that people are more open to this idea that you'd be comfortable with.

Clients will be using it as a cheap way to check your work, if not replace you entirely.

Perplexity has a real estate tool that will give anyone enough information to muddy up the whole pricing conversation in just a few minutes:

🎯 Your AI strategy will determine your success.

There's plenty to be concerned about on all this.

But ignoring it won't make it go away.

We've got to have a plan that helps us avoid getting replaced by AI and instead, keeps it in the friend zone.

Surprisingly, Realtors might be the best suited professionals for handling this given the number of changes you deal with every year.

And your strategy should be simple.

Here's what I'd do:

  1. Start by embracing the challenge. AI is going to become more prevalent and looking at this as an opportunity rather than a problem sets the tone up front.
  2. Use AI yourself to understand how it works and how your clients will interact with it. Be proactive and put yourself in your client's shoes. Act like you're trying to replace a Realtor and see what it says. Instead of getting surprised, anticipate what AI will be advising them to do.
  3. Focus on the hardest to replace skills. Things can change, but the there are likely going to be several parts of the real estate process that AI won't be able to do at a high level. Those are what we want to become experts at.

The truth is plenty of Realtors will get pushed around by clients - especially as AI continues to become more advanced.

On the other hand, the top agents will invest today to ensure they're not only around in the future, but actually valued above AI.
